Healthy Living Is So Important
Food gives us life. Food makes us feel strong and gives us the energy to go about our everyday lives. Just two short weeks of not having access to food and we’ll die. Considering this, you could say that food is important. Why should we be conscious of what we are constantly putting in our bodies? Many philosophies have been brewed up, and I will tell you mine.
Basically, I want to be the most healthy and well-rounded person that I possibly can be as I get older and gain more life experience. I want to become healthier; both mentally and physically. I think eating right is quite important considering it plays a big part in determining how we feel. As well as how well our bodies are running underneath our skin.
Healthy food plays such an important role in our life
It’s not something we should take for granted. It’s something to celebrate. That also plays into it being imperative that we put the right things in our bodies; considering most food stocking the shelves at the supermarket may not be doing the good things for our bodies it should.
I am not just here to tell you that if you cut your pizza in half though, i want you to learn how living healthy is so important in life, you’ll instantly become healthier. If that is what you are looking for I encourage you to look elsewhere. What I am telling you about is carving a new lifestyle that is more aware of the things you put in your mouth, which I think should consist more of fresh foods and not processed ones.
Can you tell me what all those long, alien sounding “ingredients” are on a box of macaroni that should just say cheese and noodles? Neither might I be able to. So why might we need to place that in our bodies? The other day I was inspecting the name of chicken pot pies at a companion’s home that was residing in their reuse bin. The ingredients list appeared as though it could be an article of how it was readied! By and by, that is not something I need to expend!
I’m not a believer of processed foods. From my experience, they do more bad things to our bodies than they do good. The foods that I choose to eat are the ones where I can understand the ingredients list. That means I eat a whole foods I can.
Once upon a time all foods were whole foods
That was before food was processed in factories and harmful additives were put in. So many foods are taken out of their natural form, and salt, fat or other ingredients are added to make it less healthy. To make it worse, the very things that make it healthy like fiber, vitamins, and minerals are often removed. Why can’t our foods stay natural, wholesome and nourishing? That is where voting with our forks come in. If we purchase whole foods and less processed foods at the grocery store we are fighting the processed foods epidemic.
Eating whole foods is important because you are actually aware of all the ingredients that are going into your mouth. It’s common that things you are eating are piled up with a long list of ingredients that would never be seen just a hundred years ago. It amazes me all the adverting slogans you see telling you how to “be healthy”. Perusing the internet I crossed a link that says to eat burgers, pizza, and ice cream to lose weight.
Yikes… I do not vouch for that. All natural foods are healthy and important to a balanced diet. When I say natural I mean foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, etc., that don’t have a label of words you can’t pronounce. There are SO many tips and tricks that health related businesses claim make you lose weight. Why does there to be so much confusion on how to do the simplest thing – eat?
I’m currently experimenting with being vegan
After being pescatarian for awhile, which means I don’t eat any meat besides fish. The reason is because what I’ve learned about dairy and meat. I’m not against either meat or dairy, I’ve just found out what works for me. My body is able to handle a lifestyle of not eating meat so I’m able to do so. For some people this isn’t the case, for example the Dalai Lama would get ill if he stopped eating roast beef!
I believe in a diet that consists of moderate amounts of sugar, lots of fruits and vegetables and healthy forms of protein. I have a love for food and think it tastes best prepared with fresh, wholesome, and nourishing ingredients.
It’s important to supply our bodies with the nutrition it needs. I feel so good when I know my body is being well taken care of from the inside out. I feel much more energetic and ready to take on the day. Think of it as a wheel. When you’re supplying your body with healthy foods and lots of water, the wheel spins fast and easily. However when you feed your body unhealthy fats and not enough nutrients the wheel struggles to turn. This wheel reflects a good idea of how fast your metabolism is going. What does your wheel look like?
Being healthy requires adapting to the mindset of a healthy lifestyle
You can’t continue to practice a healthy lifestyle if you aren’t backed with the information you need to do so, otherwise it will just fall through in the matter of time. Diets are useless for sustained good health. They might help you lose some weight, but after a certain period of time it will come right back because you aren’t supplied with the foundational knowledge you need about food and health to continue.
Diets don’t teach the factors of good health or give you the underlying reasons you need. For whoever wishing to take the time to learn about a healthy lifestyle all around is where the real results come in.
